Got really lost trying to find my way through the Goricko Hills - I crossed one small mountain
three times when trying to find the way around it.
Almost every town in the area had a church, many of them boasting the highest steeple,
oldest pew etc. I liked this one because it was the smallest - about the same size as the bus-stop.
I guess the priest doesn't have trouble filling the place on sundays.
And yes, those are pumpkin people waiting for the bus.

Decided to skips the plains and catch a train from Putj to the Julian Alps.
I only had a few hours in Ljubljana between trains - seemed like a nice place -
would like to go back sometime.

These are the same pictures you can find on a million postcards
in Bled, but, well, with good reason. Looking forward to cycling through these mountains.

A cruisey ride along the Pisnica valley before I need to cross the range.
Click the left picture to see the water running (2.5MB).

24 switchbacks to cross Vrsic pass, but never too steep and with views like
these it was pretty easy going.
The top-left picture is a video of me nearing the top (6MB).

Camped by Soce gorge for my last night in the mountains.
This was probably my favourite leg of the whole trip - stunning landscapes.

Caught a short train through the mountains -
one small carriage for people and one big one for bicycles. You can see that the tourist season's
already ended.

Rode out of the mountains via Bohinj valley - the rain from Slovakia had
found me again but it only poured for 10 minutes or so.

A welcome change from camping, Igor and Marjana hosted me for the
last night of my trip.
This is Igor, myself and a random dog on a short day trip we made up the Kokra valley.
